You don’t see too many of these Virginians up for sale, which is probably because they are arguably the most beautiful and most desired banjos ever made and this here’s a very special Stelling Virginian with the engraved nickel from 2005. The arm rest was sent back to Stelling for replating and then safely stored to keep it as new. The frets are in excellent condition and overall the banjo is nearly mint condition. This banjo has a lot of good low end response and just one of the best you’ll ever find. It has the original Tony Pass Lost Timbre rim and has no significant dents, scratches or dings. It’s also worth noting this banjo comes with the original Ludwig head, which is no longer manufactured and quite rare. Also included is the Stelling OHSC.
Note banjo does not come with the Keith tuners shown in the picture and also does not include the shell truss rod cover, the stock tuners and black truss rod cover are what is included in the sale, I am keeping those because they were costly upgrades and I want to lower the selling price.
I never got very good on the banjo but below is a link to a little demo I recorded with my phone, you can definitely here how rich and full the tone is, not too bright and with a nice warmth and low end response
