This is a 2003 Gold Star GF-85. In 2003 the first 100 Gold Star banjos supposedly sported Cox 3-ply Maple rims. This be the last one of them. The banjo is overall solid, sounds excellent and in good shape. There is a nick in the finish on the heel and a couple hairline finish cracks where the heel sits into the resonator. These are finish issue not structural. Other than that the finish is in great shape on reso back, sides and neck. There are a couple nicks on the back of the headstock. The metal has patina on it, minor fret wear. Sports a Purcell 1941 Gym Floor bridge. Comes with its HSC.
She's not pristine but she's rock solid and setup ready to go.
