The 12" block constructed rim is made from walnut & mahogany. All metal parts are new except the vintage nickel plated brass tension hoop that is in excellent shape and has minimal scratches. The head sits on a 1/4" round steel rod that serves as a tone ring.
The neck was constructed from two pieces of Asian beech with a walnut center piece and walnut ears on the peghead. The fret board scale is the standard 26 1/4". The string action is 3 mm above the12th fret. The medium gauge steel strings sit on a 1/2" bridge. The fret board width is 1 1/4" at the nut and 2" at the end. The neck is straight and notes true up and down the neck. A couple of the unbranded geared peghead tuners purchased off eBay are a little sticky, but they work well and the banjo stays in tune. The banjo weighs in at approximately 6 lbs.
There is no case, but the banjo will be packed carefully and shipped insured via USPS Retail Ground.
