I’m selling my modified RK O25 banjo. This banjo has a wood rim, with an angled profile to mimic a tone ring shape, but has no tone ring. It will include a new set of strings (I can install them if desired) and a Guardian Gig bag in very good condition. I also threw in a straight bridge by an unknown (to me) maker named Dale.
I added a scoop (looks acceptable but not professionally done - see photos). When I did this I filled the fret slots and the side marker holes with epoxy mixed with the fretboard dust. The partial frets are OK looking but would never be confused with professional work. The scoop works well just the same... I also installed the rr spike at the 7th fret but I think it looks like I knew what I was doing.
There is some fret wear, a few wear marks, and a few dings (one obvious one on the upper left portion of the peghead) but overall this banjo looks good and plays well. The arm rest is fairly tarnished - something my body chemistry seems to do. The finish is not perfect where I modified the banjo but does not affect playability.
If you don’t want the moon bridge I have others that could be substituted at no cost.
It also currently has a renaissance head - this can also be switched to a top frosted remo (no cost) or a John Balch hide head ($50 additional)
This banjo is currently packed for shipment (a buyer backed out after I had it ready) but I can pull it out if any changes are desired.
I think this is a great playing banjo but it doesn’t currently get played.
