2004 SN 080
Gorgeous Chuck Lee 12" maple tubaphone with custom inlay. I call this banjo "Odette" based on the Swan Lake ballet. A previous owner called her "Swannie" - either way she is a wonderful banjo with a clear ringing voice.
Nut width 15/16"
Scale length 25 1/2"
Maple neck and pot with nickel hardware, NO bracket band (makes it lighter in weight).
Very slender neck profile fitting the swan motif.
Unfortunately, arthritis in my left index finger now requires a beefier neck profile. I am entering "de-accumulation phase" in life and this is why I must part with this remarkable banjo.
I am including an Access Stage three gig bag. There was not a case included when I bought the instrument.
She is in excellent paying shape and sounds awesome. Condition is described as 'very good' based on 15 years of being played. My sense is the head is original as it has 'yellowed' in a way complimentary to banjo color.
Keep in mind that FedEx/UPS charge exorbitant shipping rates to private individuals based on "dimension weight." The last few instruments have cost me well over $100 even to 2-3 day shipping zones. Continental US keeps things simpler in my experience.
Reach me through the Hangout at 'banjartater'. I can provide previous owner references for serious inquiries. I acquired this banjo in a trade, the neck profile just doesn't work with my arthritic finger. Both references would suggest $2500 is a fair value.
