This beautiful old TB-1 was shipped to a music store in Greenfield, Massachusetts on December 15, 1937 and has been in the same family since at least the 1940s. By 1937 Gibson (or rather their subcontractors) had really figured out the casting and plating. . . the hardware on this one is immaculate, and the condition overall is about as clean as you will find. A very nice bonus is the presence of an engraved "two-hump" Grover tailpiece! I have seen other TB-1s from this lot that had the same tailpiece. Standard operating procedure in the banjo trading world would be to take this tailpiece off and sell it separately, but I hate to do that when it's part of this banjo's history and something that makes it distinctive. Please visit for more information and full detailed photos. This banjo will be shipped in a newer hard shell case. Sorry, no trades.
