The heel has been penetrated by a madman and will need creative cosmetic help. The good stuff: the neck is straight and unbroken, nice inlays, and a (gasp) 10" pre-EPA head. The scale length is 20 inches. The rest: fretwear on the first two frets only, missing one of the bracket/nuts, tailpiece, nut, 5th peg. It won't take a lot to make this a nice little banjo.
Stamped on the dowel stickis "Geo. C. Dobson, 204 Shav?mute Ave., Boston, Mass."; "Star", "Trade mark 'Victor', Pat'd March 4, 1884"
