This Banjo was presented to a now deceased relative upon his retirement. The banjo is in excellent condition and has a Remo Weatherking head.
Don't know much about it but "experts" have told us this is most likely a Gibson “Parts” Banjo. The Factory Order Number suggests it dates from c1923, so will probably be the early style of Tone ring.
The original decal would confirm that the rim is original, probably to a tenor banjo. The neck looks to be a reasonable quality, but the Resonator and flanges are not original. It was most probably conceived as an open back.
As to value we are told it is worth between £1,000 - £1500. Being sold on behalf of the deceased's estate.
