Mid 1930's Montgomery Ward (by Gibson) tenor banjo converted to a 5-string Mastertone. Very good overall condition.
All original pot assembly, with the exception of a 1929 pre-war Gibson 40-hole archtop tone ring. It also comes with a Sullivan archtop to flathead conversion tone ring.
The resonator has been shortened to a more common Gibson spec in height.
The curly maple neck appears to be from an RK-85, and converted to a very nice 'Gibson style'. Has Schaller 'D' tuners added as well.
Great sounding and playing banjo with plenty of 'old Gibson' mojo. Perfect for a 'player' that's looking for lots of versatility in a package deal.
