1927 Gibson PB-1, Plectrum Banjo
All original, just as it came from the Gibson factory some 92 years ago. Very good overall condition. Has the usual minor scratches in the resonator finish, along with a few minor dings in the neck. Virtually no finish play-wear showing. Same scale as a 5-string from that period, with same tuning as well.
Full thickness 3-ply maple rim, 1/4" brass tone hoop, dark stained maple neck and single bound resonator, Brazilian rosewood fret-board, diamond cut flat flange with bracket-shoe construction, friction tuners, Grover window tailpiece, all nickel plated hardware, original hide head and 1/2" bridge.
Only about 125 of these were produced during the third generation of the Style-1. Pretty rare bird.
Original case is in very fine condition, with handle and all hardware intact.
All-in-all, an excellent example of the non-Mastertone line from the coveted pre-war era.
