Keeping this banjo from excellent are the non-original resonator screws, the finish wear on the back or the neck, and the frets-worn but functional. I don't know that the tailpiece is original. Other than that, this banjo is in what some of the 'biggies' would list as excellent+. It's cheap because it has a 10 1/2" pot with a tube tonering and wavy flange. The scale length is 21"-perfect for Irish music or whatever. As you can see, the hardware is very shiny. The original case is rough but tough-it closes tight.
