Alright I am sure to see a lot of comments about this, but I need to post anyway.
Someone asked about the hoop being off of an RB. I believe it is. The notch does not look to have been cut or filed after the plating was done. I can send more photos to anyone who is serious about buying. If I had a pot metal hoop I diffidently would want to get this one to replace it.
I am selling a 1929-30 Gibson Granada Tension Hoop. If you have a pot metal one, then this is for you.
It is solid brass, in excellent condition, gold is excellent for 90 years old and the engraving is proper. What more can I tell you. Price $8,500.00 or best offer. Yeah I know it's high, but you can't find an original Granada Tension Hoop every day and you wouldn't believe what I paid for my #6 hoop. With original heavy weight Flathead engraved tone rings going for $30,000 to $40,000 (I was quoted $45,000 not long ago for a RB6 ring) and the Flat Head Banjos going for $70,000 on up. You know I'm right because you have seen them too. There's Gibson banjo's for sale in Nashville I saw just a few months ago that they are asking $ 25,000 to $ 30,000 for and if you deduct the cost of the Frank Neat neck ($2,000 or less) then $8,500 is a good price. I will be in the Nashville area near the end of August and can deliver.
