I am helping out with the sale of a couple of banjos for one of my good
friends that passed away recently.
He played banjo for a well know bluegrass gospel group here in North
This banjo was bought new by rny friend in Shelby, North Carolina
FON is 8906-86 per his wife this is a 1989 (Greg Rich Era) Gibson
The banjo plays and sounds as you would expect and has beautiful curly
maple wood and very nice Brazilian ro$ewood board.......profile of neck
is very good as well!
There are some gold plating worn thin in places on banjo from playing and normal use as it was a player!
Frets show only light wear and back of resonator has light superficial
scratches from metal buttons on his bib overalls but scratches do are
not deep enough to get to the finish and I believe that they would buff
out......they are not very noticeable as you have to turn resonator a
certain way to see .
The original warranty card is in original Gibson HSC.
As far as I can tell, the banjo looks to be all original except for head
strings and bridge.
It has a Sullivan roasted maple bridge and spikes @ A...B...and C.
lf more pics are needed, please ask and I will take more and send out.
Thanks for looking!
