For sale is an excellent condition Wildwood tenor banjo.
I purchased this from another hangout member a couple of months ago and have very lightly played it. I think I've decided that I'm just not much of a tenor player, despite my best intentions. That, and the air conditioner on my wife's car just died, so there's a nice unexpected bill... for that reason I will not be able to accept returns, but I can just about guarantee you will love this thing if you like that tubaphone sound.
I can't find any scratches on it and fret wear is almost imperceptible; I would almost call it mint, but my eyes just aren't quite what they used to be, so to cover myself, I am listing as "excellent" +
block rim with tubaphone style tone ring, planetary tuners.
Scale length is 22"- the neck on this one is probably the most comfortable I've ever played (subjective, I know, but my hands are on the larger side and this one is comfortable all the way up). This is a professional level banjo without a lot of bling- just a player's instrument, so someone needs to be playing it!
Curly maple neck with beautiful ebony center strip; ebony fretboard.
Mark Platin, owner/maker of Wildwood banjos, retired in 2018, so there will be no more of these!
An ambitious person could also purchase a 5 string neck and have the best of both worlds.
Sales/shipping to lower 48 US at this time; cash in person if you're close to Winston-Salem, NC or paypal.
No case, unfortunately, but I do have the padded gigbag by Deering that it will ship in. I will also pack well enough to be drop-kicked by the courier.
Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking-
