Putting this up for sale again as I have another banjo project in the works.
Beautiful 1960 Gibson RB 170. In very fine, near unplayed condition. All original parts. What one would call a closet queen. When I got it, It spent it’s previous 45 years under a bed from what I was told.
Has original Gibson cardboard banjo case in fair and usable condition.
If I am wrong on the year, please correct me.
A great versitile player with no issues. They didn’t make too many of these. I have two. Same year and a few serial numbers apart. This one has been in my closet for years, I think I played it once since I had it, so this one goes.
Those who have these know they are incredible instruments. Has the nice brown rim as found on early 1960’s Gibson banjos.
I can provide as many photos as needed if desired. If you are close to the Philadelphia PA area, I’ll be glad to let you try it in person.
No reasonable offers refused. But please, no rediculous low balls either.
I am very hesitant to offer a return on this as I have been burned in the past with unscrupulous folks removing parts and the like on other banjos, but with the right person and a personal phone call, I may offer a 48 hour approval.
Please PM me if you want additional info.
