1926 Gibson TB-0 (FON: 8255-11)
Here's an example of a lower-end Gibson tenor banjo dating to 1926. The style 0 of this period featured a bracket-shoe construction, and was a non-Mastertone model and therefore had only a small-diameter brass hoop on top of the rim. The hardware is nickel-plated and the wood is dark-stained maple. The inlay is a dot pattern and the peghead has a silkscreened "The Gibson" logo. The head is a Remo Fiberskyn. Note: The tailpiece, armrest and tuners are non-original parts.
This particular banjo features an original BLOCK rim with 'The Gibson' label, which was only found during this time period. The rim measures 11" in diameter x .725" in thickness. It could use some TLC in spots to tighten up the veneers, etc. (See pics.)
