Up for sale I have a great sounding and playing Maybell "Queen" 19 fret tenor banjo. This was one of their higher end models at the time.
- Archtop tone ring! (Not all of these featured this configuration)
- Colourfully engraved pearloid fingerboard and headstock overlay, and painted resonator with pearloid trim.
- Original Grover patent "two-tab" tuners with grained ivoroid buttons still holding well and turning smoothly.
The banjo is in good playing condition but has some cosmetic wear in the form of some corrosion on the hooks and flange, and buckle scratches on the resonator. Also, the finish on the back of the neck is mostly worn through (possibly deliberately). Other than that it is in great shape.
Currently plays comfortably with low action and gets the bright, punchy, you'd expect from it.
Also included is the original green felt-lined case. All latches still work, and the handle is in good shape (looks vintage but not sure if the handle is original).
