This is the second best condition prewar rim I have had in my shop!
Most of these rims are thin like the style 00s but this one is a rare bird and full thickness just like any other prewar full thickness rim........
It is round within .015 which means it's a perfect candidate for cutting for a tone ring and you will not end up with a mismatch between side of rim and tone ring skirt and allows the heel to make better contact thus better sound! In other words you should not end up with a step like you can get when a rim has been egg shaped by over tightening of co-rod........and I can tell you from years of seeing lots of these rims, most are out of round at least .050-.060 thousands or more!

This rim came out of a Ward banjo which from what I can find out was made by Gibson to sell to Montgomery Ward circa 1935-1936.
No serial number as with most of the style 11s and Kels but it is the real deal.
Really tight glue joints with no delamination at all.......this will make a killer sounding banjo!
Dimension at top is .750-.760 and at bottom where flange slides up is .610.
Comes with the original co-rod and long nut.
