Here's one of the great rarities of the prewar Gibson banjo world: an original flathead five-string top-tension RB-7 shipped from the Gibson factory on October 2, 1942. In his book "Spann's Guide to Gibson 1902-1941", historian Joe Spann estimates the total production of original RB-7s at thirty-six units. #F690-4 is in original condition with the exception of a replaced fingerboard and refinished neck and resonator. Please visit earnestbanjo.com/wp/gibson-rb-...r-mcghee/ for complete photos and description. Sound files are available on request. This banjo will come in a newer hard shell case.
