This RB-150 is in incredible condition for being 65 years old. This was originally and RB-150 which had a 1/4" (small diameter) brass hoop but has been converted with a Gibson 4-hole arch top tone ring like and RB-250. The serial number 4-885-55 shows that this banjo is from 1954. The 150 featured a mahogany neck and resonator with concentric rings and "bowtie" inlay. This banjo is all Gibson and clean as a pin. I had Robin Smith re-fit the neck just to be sure. The resonator has normal finish checking and the neck has finish wear around the 2nd fret from the left hand. 5th string spikes are at 7th and 9th frets and the banjo ships in a new Superior case. This banjo sounds tremendous. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
