Here's a fresh-to-the-market late tube-and-plate TB-3 from late 1929; later that year, the Mastertone line changed over to one-piece flanges. This one is in original condition with the exception of one missing resonator thumb screw. It shows signs of play and finish checking, along with a couple of dents in the armrest caused by contact with the brackets. The tone ring is the original forty-hole. The Grover "pancake" tuners are present, although the third-string tuner is a little slippy. This one will need a new head (the one now on the banjo is split at the edge). The tension hoop is brass with the "E2" stamp on the inside and the plating is in good condition. The banjo is housed in what's left of its original case. This one remained in the family of the (I believe) original owner until just recently. Please be sure to visit earnestbanjo.com/wp/gibson-tb-...kennison/ for complete photographs.
