If anyone is looking for a mahogany style 75 neck at a very good price then this might be for you.
This neck found it’s way to my shop a while back and I am not 100% sure of the maker.
It has almost no noticeable fret wear and fret job looks good and level.
Nut width is around 1.240.....thickness at 1st fret is .850.........thickness at 12th fret is .950
Spikes at A and B
There were 2 issues that I saw needed attention and today I decided to pull it off the wall and fix them and put it out there to sell……..
For some unknown reason the builder installed the neck lags off-center of heel of neck.
See pics attached
I have redrilled and glued in hard maple dowels and sanded back flush.
Tomorrow when the glue has set I will re-locate to neck centerline and drill and install 2 new lags……correctly!
The other issue is when builder did a speed neck but did not feather down the edge of lacquer line, leaving a ridge that could be felt so I reworked that as well on volute and heel end and did one of my speed neck methods sealing and burnishing in paste wax and buffing out……it is now smooth as a baby mouse’s butt!
I will take a pic of heel tomorrow after the new lags are installed in proper position and put with others.
I have not put this neck on a pot but I am sure it will play very well and frets are level and should be fine but you get a 2 day approval so all you would be out is shipping costs if it don’t work out for you.
I am a neck builder and I get $1250.00 for a new neck like this one …….this one can be had for only 500.00 plus shipping.
This will be my New Year’s Deal to anyone in need!
