This is an absolutely beautiful 1973-74 Gibson RB-250, all original. This is the closest you will find to a new 1970s Gibson- really in extremely good cosmetic shape with none of the often seen '70s defects. Mahogany and ebony fingerboard. Original case included. Very light fret wear. No neck repairs or serious dings. No buckle rash. Serial number 033264 (I believe, it is a little hard to read). I was told this was a '74 when I purchased it, but the serial number may be '73. There is no cracking of the resonator binding, and the tonering does not overlap the inside of the rim (two common defects you sometimes see with these banjos). The rim is tight and not delaminated, only light finish checking. Spikes are installed, there are filled holes from a prior sliding 5th-string capo. I have seen a lot of these '70s Gibsons, and this is cosmetically the nicest I have ever seen. I had to buy my son a travel bass recently, so we agreed to sell this banjo (and another Stelling listed) to fund the new purchase. Wish I could keep it. I will pack and ship insured in case with extra packing, with case in large padded cardboard box. Or can be picked up in San Francisco area.
