Extreme curly maple wood;
Honey, satin finish;
Tony Pass Lost Timbre rim. Considered by many to be one of the best pot assemblies available. Used by Stelling and Paul Hopkins on his Woodie Banjo.
Gotoh tuning machines;
Outstanding sound with lighter weight - It weighs 8 lbs.
Spikes at frets 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 - Installed at time of manufacture.
Small amount of fret wear, nothing serious near the nut
Currently strung with GHS PF150 strings. Extra set will be included.
The only issue (if you can call it that) is there was a sliding 5th string capo on the banjo that has been removed. You can see the fill marks in the side of the binding, but cannot feel them.
Access Hardshell case
5/8" Nechville bridge
I’ve included a review from Bluegrass Newsletter discussing these banjos. Everything else is the same as the pictures. There's also a good review here on BHO under Turtle Hill Banjos.
Best I can determine it was made in 2006. These banjos were only made for a couple of years so there are a limited number available.
Note: I have a video of the banjo being played that would not upload here. If you're serious about the banjo, send me your email and I can send it to you.
