This is a Recording King, made by Gibson in the mid 1930s that started out as a tenor. The original neck is also included. It is the same as the Style 2- walnut neck and resonator, with the one piece flange and 40 hole archtop tone ring. The five string neck that is installed on and included with the banjo was made by Harry Eibert of Syracuse N.Y. I had the neck re-profiled by Steve Ryan to something more traditional than what Mr. Elbert had built originally. Mr. Ryan did a wonderful job. This is a very strong banjo as you would expect from a prewar Gibson AT. I have more pics of course. Let me know if want to see them.
