I've reluctantly decided to let this one go. This is one of the best prewar conversions I've had. This Style 2 F.O.N. 9878-17 has been converted using a Huber Vintage tone ring and a Huber mahogany neck with wreath inlay. The pot is all original prewar metal including an un-punched Grover Presto tailpiece. It has the prewar Grover tuners as well. The fret wear is moderate with plenty of life left and 5th string spikes are installed. A great speed neck finish to the neck as well. There is a hairline crack in the outside column of the flange near the armest. It's been repaired and set on the underside and is good to go. This is reflected in the price.
I've played this banjo live on many occasions and it has the "sweet" mahogany tone from the neck and has the "crack" to cut through as well. It definitely has the Prewar Gibson tone.
