Advancing age and reduced space means I have to part with some of my favorite instruments, even though it's painful. This one is a recent Bacophone Plus [often called a "hot rod" since it has two fine tone rings--bacon and whyte laydie] It was bought when Bart's last group of them was sent to Elderly. I thought it might be the last chance to obtain one, but it has been very lightly played and is as close to mint as one can get. It has an 11" pot , and the neck is 1 and 1/4" [seems a bit wider to me though] wide at the nut. The neck is mahogany. It needs to be played and enjoyed. Unlike some banjo stores, this banjo comes with a good quality hard case.

The banjos don't come around very often, and they have been recorded by John Balch, Laura Boosinger, and others.

Here is Elderly's description:
Reiter adds a Whyte Laydie scalloped ring inside the standard Bacon tone ring to add some punch to the sweet Bacon sound. - Mahogany neck, 11" rim, Elite Amber (Renaissance) head, planetary tuning pegs, adjustable truss rod, No-Knot tailpiece, ebony fretboard (1-1/4" wide at nut) & ebony peghead overlay, pearl star in peghead, fretboard has pearl dot markers and a scoop above the rim, 26 3/16" scale. 3-ply bent maple rim stained to match neck, walnut cap on back edge of rim
