Like our other movable, mechanical amplifiers for banjos, this amplifier is powered by the banjo's own sound surface waves to improve its sound when hung by its tape from the top inside surface of the banjo's wood rim. It's distinguishing features are: (1) incredible sustain, (from its three contiguous octagon pairs which route surface waves continuously in a "angled figure 8" pattern); (2) traditional banjo sound timbre, (from walnut (or optional maple) wood veneer contiguous octagon pair shapes, one with its rear surface covered by brass foil); (3) very loud volume, (from two bent heavy paper contiguous octagon pair "loudspeakers", each with surface wave inputs from an amplifying steel staple having two "crashing" inputs from its points, one from a staple point in contact with the brass surface and the other staple point hard crimped to a spring steel pin that is directly connected to the surface wave input tape that is stuck to the banjo's wood rim. This very confusing description is made clear by a drawing and narrative that can be downloaded free from the "Ideas & Downloads" page on our website.
