Early New York fretless banjo- late 1860’s to early 1870’s likely. Plain shield brackets, a couple of unusual round nuts, rim slightly out of round and approximately 11.25” in diameter, hand forged iron tension hoop, hand carved oak tailpiece, new goatskin head, replacement ebony and boxwood tuners, inlaid fret markers. Dowell stick has sturdy splice where it joins rim and neck, 3/4” custom bridge, 24” scale.
