Selling this awesome 1963 Bow tie.
It's an absolute monster of a banjo, has that Ron stewart bite to it for sure.
Has a 1958 Gibson tone ring in it, that came from Richie Dotson out of another bow tie. '58 was the first year they started making tone rings again after the war.
I have the original neck that has a repaired headstock crack, and also an aftermarket neck build by luthier Tim Davis. Tim also repaired the cracked original headstock, and honestly I don't even know where it was cracked at. He's one of the best luthiers and repairmen I've ever known.
It does have the original case with it.
Asking $3,400 OBO for the entire banjo, with case and extra neck... this is an excellent banjo for that price.
Reason for sale is I do not play it enough, and I'd love for someone to be playing it more. I also found a mandolin I really want and need to sell this to get into it.
Would also be interested in trades, looking to downgrade some.... contact me with your offers. I'd love to tell you more about this awesome five.
