This Granada has been in the same family since the 1950s; it's nice and original with the exception of one replaced (new nickel-plated) resonator thumb screw, one replaced (prewar gold-plated) head-tightening bracket, and a replaced (prewar nickel-plated) Grover "window" tailpiece. There's a minor bulging out of the resonator sidewall veneer by the fourth-string side of the neck; a previous owner put a coat of lacquer on the fingerboard, which I have partially removed. I decided to leave the rest of that job up to the future owner (along with installation of a more correct tailpiece). There's a possible old refinish to the neck and one of the mother-of-pearl tuner buttons cracked and has been poorly glued back together.
This banjo has one of the most beautiful curly maple resonators I've ever seen on a 1920s Granada, with beautiful lacquer-checked original finish. The gold plating is original and all hardware (except as noted above) original and intact including the Grover "E2" engraved brass tension hoop, engraved two-piece armrest, and forty-hole archtop tone ring. The banjo comes in its original plush-lined prewar hard case.
