1970's Fender Artist made in Fullerton, CA. in very good condition; SN/ 04466. Beautiful walnut resonator, much darker than the Artists I have owned over the years; chrome plating is in great shape; flange has slight pulling near the heel as is typical of these California Fender banjos; Kerschner tail piece; original 5th string tuner; 1st thru 4th strings are Waverly 2- band nickle plated tuners; spikes at the 7th and 9th frets; 5/8" Red Maple SS bridge; Remo Wagon Wheel head- made in the USA but the frosting is heavier than the Wagon Wheel Remos that I have come across; a few light scratches on the back of the resonator but not through the finish; there is a small dent near the 4th string side of the neck near the 10th fret; the finish and plating is in remarkably good condition for a 40+ year old banjo; barely visible fret wear on the first 4 frets. I have completely tore down, inspected, cleaned and set up this Artist, and it has great walnut tone and cut that is typical of these wonderfully made California Fenders.
