This 1930's Gibson Kalamazoo began it existence as a tenor. This project was a collaboration of Don Bryant, Clifford Seals and Mike Mason. The original flat back, sunburst, single bound maple resonator is in excellent condition without any buckle rash; the original 5/8" shell is now topped with a replica Pyramid tone ring by Arnold Clayton. The custom 5 string maple conversion neck was built by Clifford Seals and features no hand stop; a rosewood finger board with hand cut pearl Style 7 bow tie inlays; stainless steel frets; the double- cut peg head sports the Gibson script on a horizontal plane and Fleur-De-Lis inlay. The finish work on the neck was performed by a band mate of Don Bryant's and is a perfect match of the 80+ year old resonator, new finish made to look old!
The neck has a very comfortable profile, and easy to play; the 1st thru 4th string tuners are Gotoh; the 5th string peg is a geared straight shaft Waverly tuner; all the nickle plated metal parts are high quality Prucha made components; has a new Huber head. Includes a like new replica "Red Line" hard shell case by Saga. Thank you for looking!
