I purchased this banjo approximately 12 years ago as a traveling or student-use banjo when I was teaching. Well, I never did travel with this banjo and my students all had their own banjos, therefore, this beautiful instrument has been un-played for all of these years. I have been unable to find the exact model name or number, but it is described by Zeppmusic.com as a "1980's style". On their web site, at this time, they have the exact banjo for sale for 795.00. Mine is in excellent condition with no dents, dings or buckle rash on the back of the resonator. There is minor fret wear on the first few frets. The original Fender-Leo clear head is still on the banjo.
Serial number is located on the back of the peg head and is 410487. Leo banjos have a multi-ply pot with a cast flathead tone ring 24 bracket and 20 hole tone ring. Comes with the original Fender hard case. The resonator and neck are made of mahogany with rosewood fretboard. The peg head and fret board has intricate inlays.
The banjo will also come with the following: shoulder strap, banjo case chord book, two (2) VHS tapes, (Pete Wernicks' Bluegrass Banjo I and II), a Shubb capo and a Arion Micon Music Tuner. I will send pictures via e-mail upon request.
This is an excellent banjo and value considering the extras included. Please call Jim @ (801) 281-1363
