This is a rare 2005 Calico Archtop banjo. Even though it was made in 2005 , I am the original owner and bought it about 2012 from a shop that changed locations and businesses several times . This could easily be rated as mint . It has no issues and plays great. It is rare in that it had to be special ordered since only flat tops are sold by Deering. I have not seen another archtop Calico on any website . It has plenty of volumn and pop . Strong fourth string and 1st string pops . Has a good prewar sound. Beautiful honey maple with ebony fingerboard, mother of pearl inlays , 3 ply maple violin grade rim and resonator ,Coral purfling , Ivoroid binding , no hole tone ring . No scratches or dings . Has a Kershner Golden Gate tailpiece and Snuffy Smith bridge , spikes 7,8,9,10 and heavy frosted Remo weather king head . Comes with an archtop Deering case. Sound clip and video on request .
