This is a super banjo. Setup and action are excellent. Used to be owned and played by a Professor of Music and story teller named Jim Glymm from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. I've owned it many years and sadly I don't play it anymore. I'm now focused on guitar. This banjo has been played and signed by Master Banjo Instructors Ken Pearlman and Dan "Old Buzzard" Levenson. Spikes on frets 6, 7, 9, 10, and 12. So a 5th string capo should never really be needed. So you can play any key with any single capo. No drone capo needed. Tubaphone tone ring. Nice punch! 6 latch perfectly fitted case in mint condition. Original bridge as far as I know. Please note photos are 14+Meg and show all dust and the most minute scratches. The banjo is beautiful and heavy, with Jim's skinny leather strap and an awesome sound. Intonation is excellent! All tuners and knobs are excellent in condition and function perfectly. This banjo can pound out some tunes. I play claw hammer as did the previous owners but skin head is still really clean since I didn't play it enough. As you probably know Wildwood made some of the very best banjos in the world. They are pretty much all the same except for amount of inlay and/or carving. I mean a Minstrel is as good as a Troubadour sound-wise. Troubadour is much fancier aesthetically. They are no longer being made. There is an extensive Facebook page for Wildwood instruments. This banjo is natural curly maple necked and hard rock maple blocked pot. Banjo key included, no key for the case. You won't regret this purchase. This banjo is the real deal! I estimate $150.00 for shipping this banjo due to weight and dimensions. And if packing and freight/insurance total is lower than that I will refund you the difference! I will give you a copy of the receipt, so you will only pay $1100.00 plus actual total shipping costs in the lower 48 states. HI and AK are probably going to be higher than $150.00. Don't know? I will expect you to pay actual costs, not a penny more. The signatures inside the pot DO NOT show from the front when you play if that is a concern. Play on and thanks for looking! Hope you find the banjo of your dreams if this isn't it. David.
