Here for sale is a 1979 Gold Star (you folks remember those... ?) GF 100 W. (read on - obviously this banjo isn't a wreath pattern) very good banjos, way under-rated, way underpriced. This banjo is interesting in that at some point the neck was changed from it's original Wreath pattern inlay to a H & F neck which I would say is from the same time period, late 70's or thereabouts, and is no doubt in my mind also a Gold Star neck. At some point - someone grafted or inlaid pearl "Gibson" script on the peghead. Whoever did that work knew what they were doing, it is very professional work. The banjo is available locally and by word of mouth... if you like these old gold stars, better move fast. First come first served. banjo is in very decent shape thru-out. New Remo head, and Gary Sosebee bridge, new strings of course. Frets have been polished and have very little wear to begin with. Spikes at A, B flat, B. Neck is in great shape, as is the rim and resonator. The metal appears to be all correct, (with the noted exceptions) and is in fine shape. has a newer reproduction Presto tailpiece. Although I can't be sure, I believe the armrest is from a late 50's/early 60's Gibson. It is a two piece armrest. Any questions fire me off an email or give me a call. thanks, happy banjo picking!
