Here is a Gibson tenor banjo neck from a mid to late 20's (not a 1925) TB3. As far as the shape it's in, well.... it's rough - kind of pretty (pretty, as in pretty rough!) for sure, but there are issues! At some point in it's life someone tried (?) to convert it to a 5 string banjo neck! I guess we've all seen that before. There is a hole in the side of the neck where a fifth string tuner would be. Also has a makeshift fifth string post/nut. Actually, that is quite ingenious in design! The headstock/peghead nut is present and appears in decent shape. The truss rod cover is not correct, it's obviously is a later repro cover. One of the snowflake square inlays at the 15th fret is slightly cracked/broken. Lag bolts are present. I believe someone filled the tuner holes and mounted some other type tuners on this neck at some point... it seems to me most of these had grover two tab tuners (the type with the ears directly across from each other), or pancakes. I'm not sure what it's worth but had to put up something! So - make me a reasonable offer and it will probably be yours! Could be a wall hanger... decoration, to complete an otherwise rough banjo, or fixed up and used on a nice banjo. Pics going up soon. any questions fire me off an email or give me a call. I have had this thing for many years - It's way past time to get rid of some of this stuff that I'm never going to use! So be looking for more things in the next couple weeks.... Thanks!
