1920s "Langstile Deluxe" 19-fret Tenor Banjo in excellent condition. This banjo has 5-ply maple neck with ebony center strip, a walnut double white-bound resonator with 5-ply concentric rings and center strip, plus multicolored fancy marquetry on the sides, white-bound 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with fancy pearl inlays, fancy pearl inlaid in headstock, top tension adjusting hooks, clover cutouts in flange, original Page "Geared' tuners, and hot dog shaped armrest. There are a few 'buckle scratches' on the resonator back. Like Lange's "Triple X" model and the Clifford Essex "Paragon", the "Deluxe" uses Lange's innovative tone tube design with 12 through the rim tone tubes and a large tone ring with 18 holes, creating an internal "sound chamber". The tone is mellow, yet loud to be heard in a noisy session! The banjo has been fitted with a new 10-13/16" Remo Weatherking head, new bridge, and reissue Waverly tailpiece. Original hard shell case and top tension wrench included. Asking $1,000.
