A beautiful, well cared Deering Deluxe. I bought this new in 2012 and have treated it perfectly. No cats, no smoke, no little kids running around. Nuttin. There is a little patina forming, I'm not inclined to neurotically clean my instruments but if it's a deal breaker I will consider polishing it for you.
The only difference between this and stock is that I have an AMB head on it, and a Snuffy Smith New Gen bridge, and mine sounds better :-).
This is the identical banjo that banjo.com is selling for $2,689. Except that mine has enough hours on it that it's opened up and sounds great. This isn't a hard driving, harsh sounding bluegrass banjo, it's more balanced and mellow. I jam (scruggs) with it pretty frequently and it always gets a compliment or two. I am only selling to finance non-banjo related projects.
The last two pros that played this were amazed at how well it sounded. I get the usual, "I don't usually like Deering but this sounds great!"
There are D-tuners on the banjo now, they are not included in the sale, but are available for purchase.
Comes w/ original case and maybe some case goodies if you're lucky.
