Nice original example RB250 Bowtie Gibson 4 hole archtop, serial 31197... circa 1961.
It is pretty much all all original except for head and Snuffy Smith bridge.
When banjo came to me it had a heel crack between top and bottom lag bolts.
It has been professionally repaired, using hide glue which glues these repairs very well.
You can not tell that the repair has been done and would not know it if I didn’t mention it.
I stand behind this repair 100% as it will never give any problem.
Banjo has one of the nicest Brazilian fingerboards I have ever seen on a bowtie with no pitting or wear at all and frets look in same condition as board.
Someone before me added a bone 5th nut replacing the traditional wooden one and it looks good and functions well. (I could fashion one just like original if someone desired)
I have never been a big fan of the bowtie 250s, especially the archtops but this one is the second best sounding one I have ever owned or heard except for the bowtie Ron Stewart came across a while back but to my ear that one has a prewar flathead ring in it!
As with anything I sell I give a 24 hr approval meaning that if you are not completely satisfied with banjo, you can return it for refund of purchase price minus shipping.
