MODEL A - 0.050" brass, chemically tarnished. Copied from a tailpiece on an English banjo made by J. E. Dallas, similar in shape to some Dobson tailpieces but larger and stronger metal. Attaches with a bolt like "No-Knot". Sanded & smoothed to be compatible w/ Nylgut strings. $30 (includes shipping to lower 48).
MODEL B tailpiece. Ebonized hardwood riveted to patinated nickel-siilvercopper, similar to Bruno TP 150 & Sonntag TP 125. Repro on left, original on right. $35 (includes shipping to lower 48). Armored w/ brass rod through the wood in front of the string holes, will tolerate steel strings.
MODEL C - Ebonized hardwood w/ MOP star. Overall design copied from a couple of vintage tailpieces. Attaches with gut or cord (see photo). Suitable for Nylgut or gut strings, not suitable for steel strings. $35 (includes shipping to lower 48).
MODEL D - Bone riveted to copper (similar gage to the thin Dobson tailpiece metal). String holes are reinforced w/ brass tubes, so these tailpieces are suitable for metal strings. All are slightly different, so please pick an individual Model D from the photos on my home page. $30 (includes shipping to lower 48).
MODEL E - Ebonized hardwood. Design copied from a ~1890 Bruno No. 6 tailpiece. Attaches with gut or wire, supplied with ~3" tarnished copper pigtails. Suitable for Nylgut or gut strings. $25 (includes shipping to lower 48)

Model G - Ebonized hardwood, 37 mm x 50 mm x 6.5 mm. Tinted MOP and brass wire inlay. Attaches with gut or wire (3” wire pigtail supplied). Suitable for nylon or gut strings. $45.
MODEL H - Replica of S. S. Stewart "Common Sense" tailpiece. Bronze/stainless steel base, ivoroid rosette. Original (on right) is nickel plated brass with walrus ivory rosette. Reproduction is pretty close to the original, metal base is slightly heavier. I carve the rosettes from vintage ivoroid bathroom accessories (hairbrushes, etc.) and they vary slightly in appearance. The base is slightly smoothed and impregnated with lacquer to prevent oxidation. Base + rosette = $75, base only = $55, rosette = $25. Base comes with a machine bolt similar to the original (not shown). Shipping to lower 48 = $5.
MODEL I - Copied from a Dobson tailpiece but made from thicker (0.040") metal "nickel silver" and the star is reduced in size to strengthen the tailpiece for use w/ metal strings. Attaches with a bolt like "No-Knot". Hand-cut, sanded & smoothed to be compatible w/ Nylgut, gut, or metal strings. $30 (includes shipping to lower 48).
TALON - Reproduction of vintage Talon 5-string banjo tailpiece. 0.09" bronze & #420 stainless steel, patinated w/ potassium sulfide..... considerably harder than the originals.. Top surface is 1 3/8" wide by 1 1/4" long. $65, plus $5 shipping in lower 48 states. Also available without patination.
CUBLEY - Reproduction of Cubley 5-string banjo tailpiece. Cut from bright, 0.035" nickel silver, patinated, holes smoothed to accomodate nylon strings. Two upper images show a TP that is bent like the originals, upper-right shows reinforcement at the bend (weak point where breaks occur in the originals), lower inage is unpatinated flats. If you're interested, tell me the distance from the center of the dowel-end screw to the top of the tension hoop on your banjo and I'll bend & reinforce one to fit. $70 plus shipping.
