This TB-3 Mastertone conversion FON 25-17 dates to 1931 and is in very good original condition apart from a new Prucha Presto tailpiece and two new resonator thumb screws. This one was converted by Steve Huber in May of 2023 with an HR-30 flathead conversion ring. The rim has *NOT* been cut. Resonator and hardware are all original with the exception of the tailpiece and two thumb screws. There is some slight pulling up of the pot metal flange but nothing major. Buckle rash on the resonator showing signs of use.
The banjo now sports a Frank Neat mahogany five-string neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, crafted from his supply of mahogany previously reserved for JD Crowe (if that sort of thing matters to you). A few style 75 designs appear in the neck (straight “Gibson” and rotated first fret inlay).
Comes with original purple-lined tenor case, tenor neck, calf-skin head, and raised head tone ring.
