For your consideration is a 1984 Stelling Whitestar Banjo in excellent condition.
It has a 3-ply hard rock 3/4” maple rim with the Stelling “wedge fit” tone ring to rim design.
Railroad spikes are on 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12.
Considering that this Banjo is 42 years old, it is in exceptional condition. The people that owned it previously took great care of it.
It is loud, clear, and punchy, exactly what you would expect from a vintage Stelling. When I got the banjo, I put an 11/16 inch Stelling bridge on it. The action is low, but there is absolutely no buzzing. It’s a powerhouse.
There is some very slight and hardly noticeable buckle rash on the resonator,
This Banjo has all the tone and playability of any other Stelling, despite being much less expensive.
Comes in the original hardshell Stelling case. The locking latch is broke, but the other latches work, and though it's not pretty, it is functional.
