This 1931 Gibson TB-1 (FON 157-45) has been converted by having Frank & Ricky Neat build a curly maple neck w/ hand-cut Hearts & Flowers inlays in a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard.
The non-egged rim was turned by Chris Bryant for a 20-hole un-plated Bill Blaylock #504 Flathead tone-ring. I added a pre-war single-leg arm-rest and a pre-war Grover Presto tailpiece, punched by Jerry Keys. The neck has mini railroad spikes, Huber 5th string pip, vintage Kroll 5th string tuner w/ vintage grained ivoroid button, and Gotoh tuning pegs. Scorpion 5/8” bridge and GHS PF-155 strings. .580 rim. All metal, other than the arm-rest, tailpiece, and second coordinator rod, are original to this banjo. There has been a repair to the original one-piece flange (OPF). There is virtually no “pull” to the flange. The repair, visible in the photos, was done before I purchased it and appears to be rock-solid. The no-logo hi-crown Remo head (Smakula) is mostly 90 on a drum dial with one area showing 91. Ships, well packed, in a Gator ABS case. The original tenor neck and case are also available.
Please let me know if you have any questions that I can answer & thanks for taking a look!
Brian
