I've had this banjo for about 13 years, and I hate to part with it, but the time has come. This banjo has played a lot of great old time music in its life, as it came from a great pre-bluegrass 3 finger picker from the Piedmont region of Virginia. This banjo has the PERFECT eye catching wear and patina!! Comes with a heavily and colorfully stickered Guardian flight case! See the photos for all the details.
It is almost all original.
Here are the details:
-Refretted by Robin Smith with original style narrow frets.
-Robin reglued the fingerboard under the last 4 frets at the heel of the neck.
-1 L-bracket has been replaced with another original pre-war L-bracket
-1 thumb screw has been replaced with another original pre-war thumb screw. The replacement, though period original, is in rough condition.
-note the break in the flange. I'm sure there was a good story with that one!
-the original window tailpiece was cracked and bending, so I have a new presto on it. I'm glad to include the original tailpiece, but that will have to come later as I can't locate it currently.
-the original case still exists, but is not included as it requires special attention to be restored properly.
