This Gibson Style 1 from 1928 features the more rare "Pyramid" tone ring configuration. This banjo's conversion was the work of renowned luthier C.E. Ward of NC. C.E. is widely known for his creativity and "out of the box" thinking. The famous original Sonny Osborne 6-string Vega neck seen in Bluegrass Country Soul movie (1971) was by C.E. Ward. This conversion neck features the Nick Lucas inlay style with bone inlay and bone frets and a fantastic profile. The cam tuners were most likely made by C.E. as well but one needs a "stop" installed.
