Conversion was done by Gold Tone, I think it was partially or wholly done by Wayne Rogers. I recall he was personally interested in this project. It was performed flawlessly and attractively.
I believe this is a Style A. It has a maple Resophonic rim.
All of the bolts and unusual nuts are Weymann, but not all are original to this banjo.
The tailpiece came with the banjo and appears to be original. The design is very strong and it is in perfect condition, structurally.
The resonator pops on, and is a good fit. I recall adding some extra felt to the attachment clips.
The resonator is structurally sound but there is a glued repair done at the tailpiece end. It’s not too noticeable but you can see it. It was glued well and seems to be structurally sound.
There is some wear on the back of the resonator.
There is something sticky on the resonator back. I tried washing it with a damp towel and it didn’t come off. I don’t want to try using something else, I think it best the next owner address it if so desired.
It plays very well and the intonation is flawless.
The sound is spectacular, nothing less.
Hard shell case is included and fits the banjo well.
I think the case has some value.
Original neck is included.
