This was my father in law's Ludwig Bellevue tenor banjo, serial #2876, with 1927 Ludwig Big Chief neck replacing original broken neck, that was found w/banjo. They look great together and would make a wonderful, one of a kind, ornate instrument. The body includes factory light fixtures, as in picture. The plug has a wiring short as it shows intermittent continuity when tested. Next owner can plug it in. Missing one piece of inlay on the body as seen in picture. The neck conforms to typical Big Chief specifications, with an inlaid wood marquetry Indian head on the front of the peghead, carved eagle on the back of the peghead, gold plated Planet tuners, fancy carving on the heel of the neck, and special Big Chief fingerboard inlays. The body is a Belleville model w/walnut resonator, wood marquetry on the side of the resonator, metal rim, 10 3/4" head diameter, standard tension system rather than top tension as was used on the Big Chief, and engraved gold plated hardware. There is an extension cord for lighting plug. Been in case for 39 years. We have original case but instrument is in newer one. Needs someone to take care and play it. More pics available if needed.
