If you are interested in this banjo, you probably already know that Huss and Dalton sold the business and the new owners no longer build banjos. It’s drop dead gorgeous Mint. This is a 2011 Huss and Dalton custom ordered Single Tree 12” open back banjo. Before I bought it in doing my research, while talking to Kimberly at Huss and Dalton, at the time I spoke with her, in order to build a similar banjo for me would cost in the neighborhood of $4200.00 but they no longer had that stunning particular piece of flamed maple. As best she could remember, they only built around 5 banjos from that piece of wood. Soon after that conversation, they stopped building Banjos and sold the company. This banjo was sold as a custom order from a music store for $2700.00. It has a 1 5/16” bone nut, 25.4” scale. Custom upgrades include a Whyte Lady Tone Ring, Imperial Flamed Maple neck and pot, Custom Sterns Hide head, Ultra gloss finish, Ebony fretboard, Rosewood capped truss rod, rim and heel, Rr Spikes at frets 5 and 11. Mint Huss and Dalton Tweed TKL case with logo and an upgrade tail piece. This is an heirloom quality Banjo that you can’t get any longer. Also included is the original warranty card showing it was custom ordered by “Acoustic Music Works”. It plays and sounds awesome as you’d expect from a premier Huss and Dalton instrument.
